Meet the Lab

  • Oh Myo Kim (she/her)

    Oh Myo is a counseling psychologist who researches adoption and racial and ethnic identity. She is primarily a mixed-methods and qualitative researcher. She holds a BA in English from Rutgers University, a MDiv from Princeton Seminary and a PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of MN. Oh Myo is a Korean American adoptee who was raised in New Jersey.

  • Lillian Jiwoo Hexter (she/her)

    Lillian Jiwoo Hexter (she/her) is a Korean American adoptee from Boston, MA. She holds an MA in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College and a BA in American Studies from Macalester College. Prior to her graduate studies, Lillian lived in Seoul for five years and taught at a small international high school. Lillian is working towards becoming a licensed mental health counselor and is currently a Masters-level clinician with Boston Post Adoption Resources (BPAR), a nonprofit organization committed to providing specialized trauma-informed counseling to individuals and families who have been touched by adoption.

  • Emma Yangren Donnelly (she/her)

    Emma Yangren Donnelly (she/her) is a Chinese American adoptee from Bolton, MA. She holds a B.S. in Psychology with a Clinical Concentration from Boston College. She currently works as a Program Assistant at The Center for Effective Therapy at The Baker Center for Children and Families. Her clinical interests include evidence-based practices for trauma-informed care, and her research interests include the intersectionality of transracial adoption, identity development, and mental health outcomes.

  • Yuka Hayashi (she/her)

    Yuka Hayashi (she/her) is an international student from Tokyo, Japan. She holds a B.A. in Applied Psychology & Human Development with minors in Medical Humanities and Women’s & Gender Studies. She is currently a Master’s student at Boston College studying Mental Health Counseling. Her clinical and research interests center around trauma-informed child and family-centered care.
